Today, April 1, 2019, marks the 35th Anniversary of One Lambda. On this day in 1984, Dr. Paul Terasaki and his team of 7 employees from the UCLA Tissue Typing Laboratory opened their doors for business with the purpose of providing transplant centers worldwide with the tools they needed to better manage their patients. One Lambda’s success was primarily due to Dr. Terasaki’s commitment to research and innovation in the field of clinical histocompatibility testing. This vision paved the way for the introduction of some of the most innovative products in the transplant industry.
The last 35 years has been an incredible story of great success and accomplishments. We developed an unrivaled reputation for quality, broadened our product portfolio by pushing the boundaries of innovation, expanded our global technical support, and increased the number of educational events for the transplant community. However, our success would have not been possible without the support, collaboration and loyalty of our global customers. For this we will always remain grateful, and on this very special day we would like to take the opportunity to say thank you.
Now, as part of Thermo Fisher Scientific and with over 500 employees strong, we remain committed to moving Dr. Terasaki’s vision forward. Our investments in research and innovation will play a critical role in providing transplant centers with the best quality products and services to help improve patient care. In addition, we will continue to provide the transplant community with unrivaled global customer support and education.
Finally, we thank our employees for their daily dedication to One Lambda and commitment to enabling us to carry on Dr. Terasaki’s legacy.
We look forward to our continued partnership with our global customers, channel partners and employees as we continue on our mission to improve the quality of life for transplant patients worldwide.
